The 27th Annual Conference of “Teaching Alliance of High Schools Attached to Universities” commenced in the High School Affiliated to Shaanxi Normal University on October 16 and lasted until October 20. High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) attended the conference with Wang Yuzhang, AHS Principal, Chen Dehai, AHS Deputy Principal, Yang Renyong, Director of AHS Administration Office, Li Guiling, Deputy Director of AHS Education and Teaching Research Department, and 4 teachers, that is, Wang Xiumei from Math Teaching Research Group, Liu Yun from Chinese Language and Literature Teaching and Research Group, Yu Wenjing from Geography Teaching and Research Group and Song Deyang from Chemistry Teaching and Research Group participating in all the procedures of teaching, watching and evaluating lessons.

The conference, centering on the topic of “focusing on core subject qualities and optimizing class teaching”, arranged activities of teaching display, observation and evaluation respectively in 4 subjects: Mathematics, Chinese Language and Literature, Geography and Chemistry. All the 32 classes have well displayed diversified characteristics and styles related to different districts as well as teachers’ personality.

The 4 classes selected to represent AHS well embodied AHS teachers’ teaching level and philosophy, winning popular acceptance of students and favorable praises from experts and other teachers.

On behalf of AHS, the host of the next annual conference, Chen Dehai, Deputy Principal of AHS, delivered a speech in the concluding ceremony, expressing deep gratitude to the High School Affiliated to Shaanxi Normal University for their great efforts to ensure such a successful conference and making the commitment to absorb the successful experience and present the best in the next conference. Chen also sent out sincere invitation to brother schools to gather in Jinan. Liu Yun, representing prize winners, delivered a speech, in which she thanked the teaching alliance for providing such a precious opportunity to make friends through teaching, widen their visions, and exchange experience.

The Teaching Alliance of High Schools Attached to Universities was founded in 1992, containing 8 schools, that is, the Affiliated High School of Fujian Normal University, the Attached School Of Nankai University, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University, the High School Affiliated to Shaanxi Normal University, Capital Normal University High School and the High School Affiliated to Yunnan Normal University, respectively located in China’s eastern, western, southern, northern and central districts. The alliance functions as a non-governmental organization intended to “exchange educational, teaching and administrative experience and exercise and cultivate teachers”, with its guiding philosophy of “widening educational exchanges between China’s southern and northern districts, giving play to the special advantages of high school attached to universities and promoting the upgrade of educational and teaching level”. After going through 27 sessions, the alliance has developed to be a high-level platform for teachers’ growth, with more mature working mechanism and increasingly important radiation and driving effects.
