In the afternoon, October 29, the 18^thAHS Students’ Congress was held respectively in the downtown schoolyard and the Xingfuliu schoolyard. Present at the congress were Wang Yuzhang, Principal of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS), Chen Dehai, Liu Congjun and Zhang Xianchen, AHS Vice Principal, and directors of AHS departments. All together 312 in the downtown schoolyard and 141 student representatives in the Xingfuliu schoolyard attended the congress. The congress, hosted respectively by Han Yuxuan in the downtown schoolyard and Chen Jiale in the Xingfuliu schoolyard, listened to and deliberated on the report on the work of AHS Students’ union , listened to the report on the work of proposals, and elected a new term of student cadres.

The congress started with the solemn chorus of National Anthem of China, followed by the speech named “Shoulder the Mission of Times and Promote Students’ Work to a Higher Level”. The speech was delivered respectively by Zhang Jingting in the downtown schoolyard and Hu Zhaoqiang in the Xingfuliu schoolyard, who expressed their hope that work on students’ affairs should attach importance to the theme education, take students’ activities as the carrier and rely on the construction of Youth League.

On behalf of AHS Students’ union Han Qingxuan and Qin Chong, President of Students’ union respectively in the downtown schoolyard and the Xingfuliu schoolyard, made the annual work report, summing up the routine as well as the creative work undertaken by AHS Students’ union in the past academic year, reflecting on the shortcomings and putting forward suggestions to the newly elected Students’ union .

The congress conducted democratic election and 34 students in the downtown schoolyard and 33 in the Xingfuliu schoolyard were finally designated as formal candidates of the next Students’ union . With the assistance of Election Supervisory Committee, the congress undertook the vote following the principle of democratic centralism. After going through the statistics of Election Supervisory Committee and the audit of AHS Youth League Committee, the new leadership represented by Zhao Ruowen and Zhao Ling was acknowledged.

On behalf of the newly elected Students’ union , Li Junda and Zhao Ling respectively delivered a speech, making the commitment that the new Students’ union shall strengthen the construction of working style to promote the sound development of work on student affairs, help the school consolidate the construction of academic atmosphere to advance students’ self management to a higher level, and get fully engaged in forging the brand student activities with their own characteristics to upgrade the influence and the driving force of students’ associations and the profession-experiencing activities. The new Students’ union shall carry forward the excellent traditions of former sessions of AHS Students’ union , build up the faith and belief oriented to the times’ development, bravely shoulder the responsibility imposed by this times, strive for great academic achievements and make unswerving efforts for the great renaissance of China.

The concluding speech titled “Assemble Youth’s Wisdom and Play a Strong Sound of the Times” was delivered respectively by Liu Congjun in the downtown schoolyard and Zhang Xianchen in the Xingfuliu schoolyard. Liu and Zhang gave due acknowledgement to what AHS Students’ union have done and at the same time expressed their hope that the new Students’ union should carry forward the excellent traditions and conduct more active and effective activities centering on the school’s development goal and its key educational and teaching work.

Via joint efforts of all the congress representatives, all procedures were successfully carried out and the first letter of proposal by the new Students’ union was delivered to all AHS students.
