A visiting mission consisting of 16 students and teachers from paid a 3-day visit to High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS).

On the morning of April 10 a welcome ceremony was held in the meeting hall of AHS’ administrative building. Present at the ceremony were Wang Yuzhang, AHS Principal, Liu Congjun, AHS Deputy Principal, Yang Renyong, Director of AHS Administrative Office and Zhang Ping and Liu Wei, teachers of AHS Foreign Languages Teaching and Research Department.

Wang Yuzhang delivered a speech briefly introducing the basic situation of AHS. As Wang mentioned, AHS and Simsbury High School have maintained long years of the sistership, with their mutual exchanges and cooperation carried forward frequently and successfully, which have well deepened mutual understanding and promoted profound friendship. Those exchange visits have enabled teachers and students to better experience and understand each other’s language as well as culture, which have greatly pushed the common development and cultural communication. Amy, a teacher of Simsbury High School, on behalf of the mission expressed her hope to keep the long-lasting friendship with AHS and strengthen the mutual understanding through consistent exchange visits and cooperation. She was confident that the friendship of the two sides shall be constantly deepened with mutual exchanges going on. Then students of the two sides exchanges gifts.

In the following 3 days AHS arranged for visitors diversified activities and courses of Chinese language and culture, through which the guests coming from afar were expected to master much knowledge about Chinese language and experiences the broad and profound Chinese culture by studying paper-cutting, Chinese calligraphy, Taiji Fan and the tie-dye art. Those foreign guests also attended classes and communicated with AHS students face to face, really experiencing the educational style and philosophy in China. During the 3-day visit 10 families of AHS International Department students warmly accepted the guests, who thus got the chance to live in Chinese families and feel Chinese society more closely.

AHS has established friendship with a considerable number of schools in Australia, US, Japan and some other countries and undertaken frequent exchange visits, not only deepening the mutual understanding and promoting its internationalization but also upgrading students’ ability of cross-cultural communication and broadening their international vision. With its teaching and educational quality constantly growing, AHS is attracting an increasing number of schools abroad to do exchange visits.
