Recently Nan Wentai and Peng Fei, students in Grade 2017 of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) passed the tests of Singapore SM2 Program and would be admitted into Singapore universities for further education in July.

SM2, also Senior Middle 2, is a scholarship program sponsored by Ministry of Education of Singapore, mainly intended for those outstanding senior 2 students majoring in science with only the best students from some provincial key middle schools qualified to attend it. Since its foundation each year there have been AHS students passing the test and going to Singapore for further study. This year SM2 would admit 20 students in Shandong Province with 2 from AHS.

SM2 tests include an interview and written tests in English, math, physics and IQ, both completed in one day with officials of Ministry of Education of Singapore and professors from Nanyang Technological University,National University of Singapore and Singapore University of Technology and Designbeing the chief examiners. Since 2012 admitted students would move to Singapore in July and after a year (8 months in National University of Singapore and Singapore University of Technology and Design) of preparatory courses register into universities with 6, 000 Singapore dollars granted annually for theirlife expenses.
