Recently the19th“Chinese Linguistic Newspaper Cup” Composition Contest (for senior 3 students), hosted by Students’ Affairs Department of Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and Chinese Linguistic Newspaper in combination with other social units, concluded as a success. Students from High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) staged outstanding performance and made new achievements in the contest, among whom 1 won the National 2^ndPrize, 1 the Provincial 1^stPrize, 4 the Provincial 2^ndPrize and 1 the Provincial 3^rdPrize.

The “Chinese Linguistic Newspaper Cup” Composition Contest functions as a top contest intended for the high school students nationwide. This annual contest has been attended so far by over 10 million students, thus exerting the wide and profound influence and attracting the keen attention of those top universities, some of which have expressed their will to give priority to those prize winners in their independent recruitment.

AHS has always been attaching importance to cultivating and upgrading students’ comprehensive qualities through organizing diverse activities. The outstanding achievements they made in this contest can be duly owed to the work of effective composition teaching and various writing activities conducted by AHS Chinese language teachers.
