From April 17 to 21, anAustralian delegration of Prince Alfred College and Wijdenes School made up of 43 teachers and students paid a five-day visit to AHS

In the morning, April 17, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) held a welcome ceremony. Present at the ceremony were Wang Yuzhang, Principal of AHS, Liu Congjun, Vice Principal, Yang Renyong, Director of AHS Administrative Office, and Zhang Shuai and Liu Wei, AHS English Language Teachers. Stephanie Andrews, Leader of the delegation respectively introduced the teachers and students from the two Australian schools. Wang Yuzhang adressed a speech briefly introducing the basic situation of AHS. As he mentioned, the exchange and cooperation programs among the three schools have been well conducted, through which the three parts have deepened their mutual understanding and established the solid friendship. In addition, the exchanges among the three schools have enabled teachers and students to closely experience a foreign language as well as a different culture, thus greatly promoting the joint development and the cultural communications between the two nations.

Stephanie Andrews representing the delegration expressed her hope to keep a long-lasting relationship with AHS. They felt it a great honor and believed the friendship among the three parts would increasingly be strengthened with the exchanges going on. At last AHS and the delagation exchanged presents as a momory.

During the visit, the visitors took part in colorful activities and courses of Chinese language and culture arranged by the host. Students closely experienced the fantastic Chinese traditional culture like paper cutting, calligraphy, Tai Chi and bandhnu. They also attended the routine courses together with their Chinese equivalents and made face-to-face communications with them, closely experiencing the Chinese education style and its philosophy. 32 host families provided warm accommodation for those foreign friends, who in the meanwhile got the chance to come into vivid contact with Chinese society.

In the morning, April 21, AHS held a closing ceremony for the delegation. Tan Yinghai, General Secretary of AHS CPC Committee and Vice Principal of AHS adressed a speech, in whcih he stated that the flower of friendship among the three schools has beautified the schoolyard and looked forward to their next visit. Liu Congjun conferred the graduation certificate to each student from Australia. The exchange visit ended up with a chorus of the well-known Chinese song named Jasmine Flower.

AHS has established close feienship with schools in Australia, the US, Japan and many other countries and has been making regular exchanges with them, which have not only deepened the friendship among them but also advanced the internationalization and cross-cultural communication of AHS. With the education quality as well as its reputation continually upgraded, AHS has attracted an increasing number of schools abroad to come and make communications, which are bound to paly a positive role in each other’s development.
