On May 24, Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) granted High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) its “High-Quality Base School”. The ceremony was held in the meeting hall of AHS downtown schoolyard and present at the ceremony were Yang Ming, Director of the SMU enrollment workgroup for Shandong Province, Zheng Ruihuan, Vice Director of the SMU enrollment workgroup for Shandong Province, Wang Yuzhang, Principal of AHS, Yang Renyong, Director of AHS Administrative Office, Zhang Weipu, Vice Director of AHS Teaching Affairs Department and Xu Shishui, Vice Director of AHS Students’ Affairs Department.

Wang Yuzhang introduced to SMU enrollment officers the educational objectives, the educational philosophy, school activities and achievements reached in recent years of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). As a “quality high school with university characteristics”, AHS, always adhering to the philosophy of “putting students the first and achieving their comprehensive development”, has cultivated generations of outstanding high school graduates with a broad vision, a sound cultural foundation and comprehensive qualities and conveyed a large number of quality talents, thus winning the consensus praise from the whole society. Shanghai Maritime University expressed their gratitude to AHS for conveying a great many students with both excellent morals and academic abilities as well as comprehensive qualities and then made a brief introduction of Shanghai Maritime University. Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) is a multi-disciplinary university that encompasses such areas as engineering, management, economics, law, liberal arts, and science, with a special emphasis on shipping technology, economics and management. As a university co-built by Shanghai Municipal Government and Ministry of Transport, SMU has been selected into “A plan for Educating and Training Outsanding Engineers”. At present SMU runs 12 sub-branch educational institutes and 45 bachelor’s degree programs and holds over 21,000 students.

In line with the principle of mutual benefit and joint development the two parts signed a protocol for cooperation on talent cultivation.
