At the beginning of 2016, good news spread from High School Attached to Shandong Normal University. Jiang Wenchuan from Class 6 Grade 3 and Jiang Shanlin from Class 10 Grade 3 received offers of pre-admission of Oxford University. A forum was held on the urban campus of AHS, with two students, their parents and headteachers attending.

Jiang Wenchuan, whose father is an alumnus of AHS, chose the major of engineering, while Jiang Shanlin, whose grandfather and father involve the field of Physics, chose the major of Physics as well. When talking about their successful experience, both of them happened to mention some factors which have played an important role during the process of personality cultivation, such as establishing learning objectives in high school, mutual benefit between courses of Physic and Mathematics in high school and attendance of exams for admission of foreign universities, democratic and open cultural atmosphere of AHS, and teachers of AHS who offer their careful cultivation and inspiring encouragement.

It is said that many excellent teachers of AHS have instructed them including Xu Jianping, “the Outstanding Teacher of Jinan" and "Outstanding Student Tutor", Cao Shiyu, "Teaching Experts of Ji'nan" and "Outstanding Educator of Jinan”, and Xie Hui, editor of “the cutest English exam paper”.

Gou Qiang, former headteacher of Jiang Shaniln, assessed him as a student with high EQ, and all-round development. He used to pick up a lost wallet and handed it to the teacher to seek the owner; besides, he has a strong sense of responsibility, initiative for the class service, loves sports, especially football and provides good creative ideas in class activities.

He performs excellently in the courses of science, got full mark in the exam of Physics, and even ranked the 8th place in the exam of science course of Grade 3 before attending entrance exams of foreign universities. In addition, he also won the first prize of the Olympic Competition of Chemistry of Shandong Province. He graduated from Dianliu Junior High School and was admitted to AHS with the score of 527.

Cao Shiyu, Jiang Wenchuan's teacher, said he is a charismatic student who loves life and sports and is good at basketball and football. He is so hospitable and orderly that he enjoys high prestige in class; besides, he has a strong sense of self-discipline, which enables him to perform well both in the school curriculum and the A-level curriculum, in both of which he has achieved outstanding achievements; In conclusion, he is independent and responsible and possesses ability of self management. He graduated from Junior High School Attached to Shandong Normal University and was admitted to AHS after passing Self-recommendation Exam.

Parents of the 2 students all spoke highly of the open, democratic and university-featured school culture and management concept of AHS. They think that the personalized and flexible way of top-notch talent cultivation in the school can inspire students’ learning initiative and stimulate their learning motivation. Both of the two students benefit a lot from such a cultural environment in not only the choice of target but also the whole learning process.

Parents of Jiang Wenchuan have always been encouraging him to be a happy, moral and responsible person, while the education ideology and the cultural atmosphere of AHS is conducive to the development of their children. Parents of Jiang Shanlin talked about their good impression to AHS from the Campus Opening day, and their recognition to the educational model of AHS. They also considered that as parents they should cooperate rather than interfere with the school schedule, to set up the prestige of the school and teachers during the process of educating students.

It is reported that A-Level exam courses have already been introduced into the school-based curriculum of AHS since the second term of 2011-2012 in order to meet the developing needs of individual students. In 2014, the AP Program was established in the school. More than 177 students of AHS have been admitted to the world's top 100 universities through A-LEVEL or SAT, ACT curriculum courses.
