At 4:00 pm, October 26, in the meeting room commenced the Parents’ Committee Transition Assembly of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). Tan Yinghai, AHS Vice Principal and General Secretary of CPC Committee of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University, Liu Congjun, AHS Vice Principal, Liu Minghui, Director of AHS Students’ Affairs Department, Li Hongbo, Vice Director of AHS Students’ Affairs Department and all parents committee members attended the meeting, which was hosted by Li Hongbo.

Li Hongbo announced the name list of the new AHS Parents’ Committee. Lv Deyi was elected as chairman of the new parents committee, Liu Yi and Yin Hongmei vice chairman, Liu Minghui general secretary and Li Hongbo vice general secretary. Tan Yinghai conferred the employment certificate to each committee member.

Yin Yilong, the former vice chairman of AHS Parents’ Committee, addressed a speech, expressing his thanks to the school as well as his full recognition to the school’s quality education. He also mentioned that the 3-year parents’ committee membership enabled parents to know more about the school and education. It should be highly appreciated that AHS has built up such a platform for family-school cooperation.

Lv Deyi, the newly elected chairman of AHS Parents Committee, made an inauguration speech. He thinks the parents’ committee should function as a role of assistance but notintervention. It is a bridge for family-school communication as a participant instead of a leader. He hopes the school should provide more platforms for the parents committee so that it can perform its functions more creatively. Lv also showed his recognition to the school’s work on cultivating students’ comprehensive qualities, providing students with psychological assistance and the school security and brought forward his advice for further improvement. Other committee members spoke freely and actively in view of the school’s further development.

On behalf of the school, Tan Yinghai expressed his congratulations to all committee members on their being elected to form the new AHS Parents’ Committee and his appreciation for their concern and support on the school’s work. He mentioned that in recent years AHS has further upgraded its management, improved its teachers’ qualities and strengthened its educational and teaching capacity. In view offurther development, AHS would, centering on its educational objectives of “building a quality high school with college characteristics ranking among the first class in China and the top in Shandong Province”, concentrate on 19 key jobs in four aspects of “nurturing an AHS culture with college characteristics”, “bringing up students with AHS features”, “fostering teachers with qualities of educationists” and “forging a brand school with high qualities and elegance”.

In the end Tan Yinghai hoped the newly elected committee could well perform its obligations, more enthusiastically support the school, more actively participate in the school activities and together create a better educational environment.
