In February, 2012, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) started its cooperation with Miami District School Board (MDSB) in crossing credit. And from the autumn of 2012, the Sino-US International high school course (“2+1”mode) will begin in AHS.

Senior 2 students of AHS complete their two- year high school courses inChinaand pass the high-school academic proficiency exam, getting Chinese high school diploma. In Senior 3, they can go to the public high schools inMiami,USto study. There they complete 24 credits, getting American high school diploma. Then they receive Sino-US high school dual diploma.

The "2+1" mode in this cooperation makes full use of the excellent educational resources in both China and US and combine the best part of both Chinese and western high school courses. While they are studying Chinese subjects, the students of AHS study the international courses as the school-based curriculum. This international curriculum includes parts of American high school courses, English culture courses, TOEFL and SAT and courses on how to smooth away the language barrier. Those courses help to get students prepared in their life, studies and mind before going to theUS.

MiamiSchool Districtranks the fourth school district in theUS, including 435 schools ranging from primary schools to universities, with 345,000 students and over 40,000 teaching staff. Students in this district come from more 160 countries and regions. It lies in a real global community, dynamic and of diversity.
