Students and teachers attending the forum

8 students, following Zhang Jingting, Vice Secretary of the Youth League of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) and Lin Lin, politics teacher of AHS attended the first China World Youth Forum, which was held in The Affiliated High School of Peking University from August 3^rdto 7^th. Totally 40 students from 14 colleges and high schools all over the country attended this forum. Present at the meeting wereTroy. G. Wolfe,Senior Manager of the United Nations Foundation, Shen Gang, Vice President ofthe 21^stCentury, an English newspaper of China Daily and representatives of Model United Nations Academic Team of Tsinghua University and Beijing Students in Free Enterprises (SIFE).

Cao Jing, Yuan Yueming, Zheng Jun, Kong Weizhen, Dong Ximing, Yang Huaichen, Yang Guang and Pang Zitao are those from AHS who took part in this activity. During the four days, they joined in various activities, that is, the BP Debate training camp,SIFE Charity and Business Case Debate Competition, Free Exploration inBeijing, Social Issues Seminar and dance party. Students from AHS were active in these activities. They were willing to take challenges and express themselves. Their performance received high praises in the forum and won honour for AHS.

China World Youth Forum starts in 2012 and is organized by elite students and professors from top universities of our country, such as Peking Univerisity,TsinghuaUniversityand Renmin University of China. Winning academic support from the Association of the UN, it aims to spread the knowledge of model UN, set up regional model UN platform and build up students’ awareness of being a citizen of the world. By taking part in the forum, AHS students broaden their horizons, practice their English skills and strengthen their ability of communicating and leadership.
