High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) received awards in the 11th National English Competition recently.

Wang Zhexian, AHS student from Class 15 of 2010, won the First Prize in the 11th National English Competition. Her teacher Zhang Ping received the award ofNational Excellent Counseling Teacher. This is the second time that AHS has received such award, following the 10th Competition.

The National English Competition is hosted by Chinese College Entrance Research under the instruction of Ministry of Education, which aims at improving quality education, cultivating innovative talents, exploring multiple selection mechanism and offering opportunities for students to display talents. AHS has gained such an achievement twice. Zhong Ying, AHS student from Class 18 of 2009, studying inSichuanUniversitynow, won the Second Prize in the 10th National English Competition and her teacher Li Min received the award ofNational Excellent Counseling teacher.

English T&R Group of AHS has set up a series of cultivating mechanism, attaching great importance to the discovery of students’ English talent and providing specific counselors for them. Numbers of students and English teachers have received awards in various competitions.
