Certificates attained by AHS students in the 5^thNational Youth English Reading & Writing Contest

In the 5^thNational Youth English Reading & Writing Contest, which was recently hosted by Translators Association of China and the World Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations, students from Grade 1 and Grade 2 in High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) harvested outstanding accomplishments, in all winning 22 Gold Prize, 40 Silver Prize and 37 Bronze Prize and attaining the access to attending live competition and award ceremony to be held in Beijing in late July. Meanwhile Li Le and Chen Donglei gained gold prizes in paper writing as teachers.

The National Youth English Reading & Writing Contest is intended to improve national youth’s English reading and writing, discovering and nurturing young English talents, carrying forward the brilliant Chinese culture and promoting cultural communication between Chinese and overseas teenagers.

Under the instruction of Foreign Languages Teaching Research Center of National Institute of Education Sciences, International English Contest –“Cultural Communication Messenger” Contest Trial was hosted by English Salon Magazine in association with Cambridge English Language Assessment. In the contest made up of three stages of regional trial, quarter final and national final, AHS students also attained satisfactory harvests, with 11 students gaining prizes and gained the access to the final. Contestants from over 20 regions gathered together and competed on the same stage, greatly strengthening mutual communication. The special prize winners of the national final shall attended for free “Ambassadors show you around the world-Sino-foreign cultural communication exchange trip and the 1^stprize winner shall take part in “Future Ambassador Summer Camp” free of charge.

AHS has always been attaching much importance to nurturing students’ comprehensive English quality. AHS English teachers pay attention to guiding students’ learning autonomy and upgrading their English quality in listening, speaking, reading and writing, thus students attaining under their instruction remarkable achievements in various English contests.
