On December 21, journalists of many media, including Xinhua News Agency, Qilu Evening, Jinan Times, Shandong Business, Life Daily, Shandong Education TV, Jinan Education TV, City Lady and e23.cn came into Class One of 2010 of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). At that moment, it wasn’t the teacher but the student Liu Zhongrui who was standing on the platform. It wasn’t the knowledge from textbooks but the legendary figure Steve Jobs that would be the topic today. This is one of the lectures of the Student Forum in AHS—Legendary Steve Jobs.

Liu read through the book Steve Jobs: A Biography for several times to prepare for this lecture. In the lecture he introduced the secret of Jobs’ success and designed some interesting interactive activities, which helped his classmates to experience and grasp Jobs’ great spirit. His thorough narration and profound view about Jobs caused the listeners to think deeply and benefit a lot.

Student Forum is a kind of theme activity in AHS. This activity is part of the campus culture of AHS with the characteristics of higher education. It also conveys the student-oriented educational concept of AHS. Launched by the school Youth League Committee, organized by every class and hosted by students themselves, Student Forum has been fully carried out in the 3 grades and many student societies of AHS.

Those given lectures in Student Forum concern various fields, such as astronomy, geography, politics, history, science, art, life, psychology, military and even the unknown world. Students may display their hobbies and interests, speak out their unique opinions, talk about the past and present or express their deep thinking on hot issues. The topics chosen may involve their own life or any corner of the world, which enlighten their mind and broaden their horizon.

Student Forum arouses students’ curiosity about knowledge and opens the door to their academic research. By taking part in this activity, students can demonstrate their all-round talents and be rewarded with the multi-evaluation of AHS. They can also dig up their potential, like a spark starting a prairie fire and head for their ideals. AHS enlightens students to get concerned about history and reality and explore art and life, which inspires their interest in academic research, promotes their comprehensive abilities and helping them achieve their dreams in the future.
