Quancheng Volunteers from our school raise money for disabled children

On the mornings of July 9 and 10, 2011, more than 40 students fromHigh School Attached toShandong Normal University, dressed in their school uniform, gathered in Jinan Heihu Spring Park at around 6:30, forming a group of Quancheng Volunteers to raise money by selling newspapers. The students, enrolled in the school in 2009, are from Class 9 and Class 16.

As a branch of the Quancheng Volunteer programme, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University is always actively involved in all kinds of activities organized by the programme. In July, the headquarters of Jinan Quancheng Volunteers called on its members to raise money by selling newspapers forthe mentally retarded, the deaf-mute and the autistic children.Led by Mr. Sun Tengfei, a teacher of our school, volunteers from the school decided to answer the call and sell newspapers in and around the Heihu Spring Park.

After two days of sale, they sold a total of 1600 copies of newspapers. Thus they sent to the headquarters of the Quancheng Volunteers programme the money from the sale, amounting to RMB 696.7 to help the mentally retarded, the deaf-mute and the autistic children.

During this activity, our school was nominated by the headquarters as an outstanding school for its excellent organization, Mr. Sun was rated as an excellent instructor, and Zhou Ying, a student from our school, was titled a gold newsgirl.
