On July 24, the cadres, principals and experts from “2018 Cross-Strait Basic Education Exchanges” paid a visit to High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). A panel discussion was arranged with Wang Yuzhang, AHS Principal, Cheng Dehai and Liu Congjun, AHS Vice Principals, and some directors of AHS departments attending the discussion.

The delegation were showed around the campus and visited the teaching faculties before the discussion in the meeting room, where Wang Yuzhang introduced in detail the AHS education. Wang elaborated the school’s development in its unique characteristics, high quality, extension, internationalization, and informatization. Then those principals from Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao made deep exchanges with Wang Yuzhang on various aspects including the school culture, the construction of fundamental courses, extended courses and top-quality courses, and the cultivation of top teachers.

Gao Youdong, Member of NPC Standing Committee and Vice Chairman and General Secretary of KMT Central Committee, made the conclusion speech, in which he highly praised the educational philosophy, the specific characteristics, the connotative development model and the teaching quality of AHS. He thought science and democracy had attained full development in AHS with its “strict but flexible, active but ordered” management and AHS was fertile soil for nurturing innovative talents. AHS has well born its responsibility as a renowned school to insist on its educational philosophy, stick to its educational culture height and play a leading role in undertaking scientific education. Gao hoped the counterparts present at the meeting carried on exchanges and educational explorations and courageously shoulder the historical obligations and current missions for China’s great course of education.
