From January 5 to 7, 87 students of Grade 2017 of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS), led by two AHS teachers Xiang Longgang and Zhao Xia attended the science camp organized by Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The camp lasted 3 days with a tight schedule of diversified activities. What impressed students most was their visit to Institute of Mechanics, where students had the chance to observe a miraculous physical phenomenon-shock wave under the instructions of experts there. As a top academy of natural science throughout the world,Chinese Academy of Sciences has delivered shocking experiences to those visitors and the visit has greatly aroused their enthusiasm towards natural science.

Students paid a visit to University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is renowned for nurturing the first doctor of science, the first doctor of engineering, the first woman doctor and the first doctor of double degrees of China. Under the leadership of the guide students visited the campus and listened to an expert lecture: A Design for the Growth of Middle School Students, which gave a detailed introduction of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences as well as instructions on students’study, well arousing their interest in this young but energetic university. Students also visited Air and Space Museum, Museum of Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs and Man-made satellite, China Science and Technology Museum, and Paleozoological Museum of China, greatly enlarging their horizons.

Adhering to its educational philosophy of “putting students first and achieving their comprehensive development”, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University has been attaching importance to nurturing students’comprehensive qualities. The trip to Chinese Academy of Sciences provided students the access to the top science academy as well as the chance to get close to the top scientists in China, surely generating inspirations as well as ambitions in the mind of these youngsters.
