On September 3 and 4, the first flag-raising ceremony in the new term was held respectively in the two schoolyards of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). Wang Yuzhang, AHS Principal and Tang Yinghai, General Secretary of AHS CPC Committee respectively addressed a speech named “Try to be a Confident and Sunny AHS Student”.

In their speech the two leaders pointed that being a confident and sunny student not only embodies the expectation of parents as well as a must quality of a student with AHS characteristics, but alsofunctions as a guarantee to attain success and happiness. As they added, students should realize a strong motherland, a renowned school and its outstanding teachers are all external factors providing a solid foundation for AHS students to attain confidence and strength. They should also know that it is those internal factors like ideal, belief, attitude and determination that really contribute to a bright future.

AHS Principal believes each AHS student has attained such a power as helps overcome any hardships and encourages students to cultivate a positive attitude, present their self-confidence and self-respect, insist on tenacity and optimism, learn to perform self-control and adjust and manage their emotions, forge their ability of resisting frustration and move forward regardless of any difficulty and failure.

In view of how to be a confident and sunny student, the two school leaders provide three suggestions: travel ten thousand miles and read ten thousand books; dare to be the first and never fear failure; overcome any hardships with your own strength.
