On December 25, the 5^thShandong Robots Carnival for Teenagers commenced in the gymnasium of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). Hosted by Shandong Youth Science and Technology Center and Shandong Association of Children’s Science Instructors, this activity attracted over 1,000 teenager lovers and Makers of science and technology. Xue Nianshan, Chief Director of Shandong Youth Science and Technology Center attended this activity and addressed a speech, so did Liu Congjun, Vice Principal of AHS in the openingceremony. Wang Yuzhang, Principal of AHS, participated in the Award Ceremony and presented awards to contest winners.

The carnival consists of two parts, the robots contest and “Creation and Life” Makers Contest. Combining competitiveness with interestingness, those spectacular contests, talent shows and science and technology displays have provided a scientific carnival for more than 1,000 teenager robot lovers and Makers. In the end 300 students were endowed the 1^stPrize, 300 the 2^ndPrize and 400 the 3^rdPrize.

As a model school of science education in Shandong, AHS has been attaching more importance to forging its best personalized education, nurturing students’ innovation spirit and practical ability and increasingly strengthening their support on students’ scientific and technological innovation. So far AHS students have been endowed golden medals in robots contests, scientific and technological innovation contests and subject olympiads. 31 students have been admitted into “National Talent Program”, the highest number among high schools in Shandong Province. Various activities like “Scientific Camp into Universities”, “Scientists into Campus” have been organized in view of providing chances for students to appreciate the style of scientific celebrities, experience the scientific frontiers, help them build up high ambitions and upgrade their scientific qualities.

AHS was chosen to host such a carnival, which fully reflects the complete recognition on AHS education on science and technology. Making good use of such a favorable opportunity, AHS shall further arouse students’ interest in scientific research in the process of proceeding elementary education, endeavor to nurture students’ practical ability and creative spirit and bring up a new generation of talents for scientific and technological development.
