On April 28, 2018 AHS Spring Track and Field Sports Meet was held in the downtown schoolyard of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). Present at the opening ceremony, hosted by Wang Xigang, Director of AHS Department of Sports, Health and Art, and Liu Minghui, Director of AHS Department of Teaching and Students’ Affairs, were Tan Yinghai, General Secretary of CPC Committee and Vice Headmaster of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University, Liu Congjun, AHS Vice Headmaster, director of AHS school departments, teachers and students of Grade 2016 and 2017. Liu Congjun and Tan Yinghai delivered a speech respectively in the opening ceremony and closing ceremony.

In his speech Liu pointed out that sports meet functions as a platform to strengthen a class’s cohesion and display students’ spiritual state and he hoped that with a spirit of courageously heading forward and striving for the best all teacher s and students should not only endeavour to be the best in academic work but also strive to make breakthroughs in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics. We should stay together and do all we can to make the sports meet a success, as Liu stated.

During the one-day competition more than 1,000 contestants from 26 classes attended the games of 42 events including newly-included team events like pull-up, jump rope, 10×300 relay, which greatly evoked students’ enthusiasm to get engaged in sports. All athletes have displayed their high competitive level as well as their outstanding qualities, with 5 achieving the standards of national 2^ndlevel athletes and Song Yutong and Geng Jiaqi breaking the school sports records.

In the closing ceremony Wang Yuzhang announced the winners list consisting of 80 team awards of spiritual civilization, publicity, queue performance and teamwork granted to Grand 1 and Grade 2 classes. As was mentioned in the closing speech given by Tan Yinghai, owing to the careful preparation and elaborate organization, the sports meet turned out to be a great success,well presenting excellence and great innovation and displaying the spirit of the vigorousness and aggressiveness of teachers and students. He hoped that all teachers and students would carry forward the sports meet spirit of teamwork, enterprise, struggle and innovation and create a better future for the school.
