On May 28, pm, Eugene Gabby, Admission Officer of Lafayette College, paid a visit to International Course Department of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) and held a recruitment seminar. Present at the seminar were all teachers and Grade 1 students of AHS International Course Department.

Gabby first introduced the conditions of Lafayette College and its advantages in undergraduate education, enabling students to have a deeper knowledge of Lafayette College and providing them another choice of college application. Lafayette College is a well-known college of letters and science in the US, ranking 37 in 2016 US News Ranking of colleges of letters and science. Then a senior student from Lafayette College shared his life in Lafayette College and the opportunities of employment practice as well as employment assistance the college could provide. In Lafayette College outstanding alumni will offer instructions on employment and help them accumulate work experience. AHS students undertook heated discussions with the senior student, who also grew up in Jinan and left his homeland to Lafayette College for further study a few years ago. AHS students obtained a considerable amount of experience on life and study in the US.

The seminar approaching its end, students put forward their questions towards Admission Officer, including what the admission criteria are, how to choose the double-degree courses, something about summer school. As responses to those questions, Mr. Gabby accordingly answered them with great patience. He pointed out that academic scores wouldn’t be the single most significant element for students’ admission and students should attach importance to nurturing their abilities in various activities and find their strengths so as to display their specialties in the interview with Admission Officer.
