Recently after submitting application and going through rounds of selection, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) was designated as China STEM Education “Seed School”, ranking among a limited number of high schools acknowledged in China.

In view of further carrying forward the spirit of the 19^thCPC Congress, implementingViews on Deepening the Reform of Educational System and Mechanism, speeding the strategy of constructing an innovative country and better nurturing students’ creativity and practice competence, STEM Research Center of National Institute of Education Sciences put into effect “2029 Action Plan of China STEM Education” and started the relative work of selecting Pathfinder Schools and Seed Schools. The action plan is intended to set up a national platform connecting STEM education research and practice, promote schools of various levels to get engaged in developing STEM education, improve Chinese STEM education quality and contribute China’s STEM education program to the world. The action plan shall focus on STEM education policies, theories and practice and do research on STEM course structure, its content system, the implementation strategy, evaluation tools and the guarantee of its implementation. A STEM education system is expected to be built up.

As a membership unit of Jinan Municipal STEM Education Association, AHS has been attaching importance to STEM education, implementing STEM education to achieve students’ comprehensive development and nurturing students’ awareness of innovation via project-based learning. Wang Yuzhang, AHS Principal, was elected as an executive membership of China STEM Education Association.
