The delegation of 8 teachers and students from Wakayama Xinglin High School paid a 2-day visit to High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) from October 24 to 25. In the morning, October 24, a ceremony was organized to welcome those distinguished guests. Wang Yuzhang, Principal of AHS, Liu Congjun, Vice Principal of AHS, Yang Renyong, Director of AHS Administrative Officeand 6 students of AHS International Department met the delegation and had a deep conversation with them.

Principal Wang Yuzhang delivered a speech, showing warm welcome to the Japanese friends. He mentioned in the speech that since AHS established the sister-like relationship with Wakayama Xinglin High School more than 10 years ago, the two sides have made several exchange visits with each other successfully; the communication and cooperation between the two parts provided a stage where the two sides could learn about different primary education and exchange schooling experience. Meanwhile, it promoted the understanding and trust between the students of both sides and played an active part in enhancing cultural communication and cooperation. Ms. Suzuki, the leader of the delegation, expressed in her speech that the cultural communication between the two schools was of great significance and she hoped the friendship would last forever. In the end both sides exchanged gifts, following which students each made a self introduction and exchanged gifts.

Due to the flight delay caused by a typhoon in Japan, the time for this visit was reduced to only 2 days, when, however, the delegation carried out a tight schedule and attended a wide range of activities, walking into the classrooms to experience lessons in China as well as those educational characteristics of AHS, holding teachers’ discussions and organizing home-stay to live with Chinese families to practically experience the life of common Chinese families and understand Chinese society and culture in a deeper sense.

This visit made by the sister school from Japan has greatly promoted students’ capacity of cross-cultural communication and widened their international vision. With its educational quality and reputation increasingly improving, AHS has been attracting a growing number of counterparts abroad to pay a visit.
