Recently, a public lecture about going overseas presided by Mr. He Liang from Harvard University has been held in ASH lecture hall. This lecture was successfully undertaken by AHS International Department under the active contact of Mr. Qian Xu, who is a member of Parents Committee of AHS International Department. Mr. He has served as an admission officer in Harvard University, and published many monographs about going abroad like Bright Prospect in Harvard. Parents and students of Grade 2015 and 2016 from the AHS International Department attended this lecture.

Focusing on “Retrospect from the end to the beginning”, Mr. He looked back the experience of his entire school career, his first Chinese admission office in Harvard University and investigation of international education according to his own school career. In addition, he also made close communication with parents on the topic of competition among children, balance between extracurricular activity and taking part in tests, problems from family education and so on. This lecture mainly focused on the differences between universities in North America and those of China in respect of curriculum provision, classroom management, the interaction between professors and students, and the “cultural impact” one had to face when studying in Harvard University and so on. At the same time, he also shared his experience of being elected as Students' union President after being candidates, canvassing and giving a 30-second election speech. Afterwards, he made a detailed description of his experiences as the first Chinese admission office in Harvard University, introduced his main work duties by citing several enrollment cases, and unraveled the mystery of Ivy League admissions.

In the end, Mr. He signed and denoted his book Bright Prospect in Oxford in the lecture hall. His humor made it easy for students and their parents to deeply understand overseas universities and it also helped students have a better and profound knowledge of their plans for overseas studies in the future.
