The 18th "National Football School Cup" football match was held in Qinhuangdao Sports Training Base of National Administration of Sports from May 24^thto 31^st, 2014. The competition was organized by China Football Association and was undertaken by Qinhuangdao Sports Training Base, with nearly 400 athletes of 17 teams from Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Zhejiang, Liaoning participating.

The competition aims to promote the cultivation of football talents and improve their competitive level. Participating teams are mostly provincial football associations, professional football club echelons, and school teams with football tradition, all of which are of high professional level. The football team of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS), for its excellence among national campus football teams, was invited to participate in the competition.

AHS football team defeated Erdos football team, Zhejiang Lvcheng football team (B), Liaoning Fushun club football team and Shijiazhuang football team, and entered the semi-finals with winning all the 4 matches and the 1st rank in the group. Being against previous opponent Henan Experimental High School football team in the semi-final, the team scored 2 balls after 1 loss and therefore got the ticket to the final.

The other side in the final is Hangzhou Lvcheng football team (A) who used to represent Zhejiang to participate in the National Sports Meeting of High Schools. Hangzhou Lvcheng got a penalty and took the lead when the match reached the 30th minute of the first half. However, Pan Leyin from class 6 Grade 1 of AHS headed into a goal at the 10th minute of the second half. Then the two sides fought fiercely for defense and offense for several times.

The other side took advantage of a toss miss to score again at the 30th of the second half. However, soon AHS football team gradually occupied the initiative in the match, and scored a goal in the corner kick opportunity at 85th minute. But as players celebrated the goal, the referee disallowed it and fouled out a player. It is the judge that aroused the fighting spirit of the players, who never gave up and fought until the last minute. The effort finally paid off. Wei Yiren from Class 4 Grade 2 made a valuable penalty in the penalty area, followed by the scoring under pressure by Wang Tong from Class 6 Grade 1, leading into the tie. With the result of 2 to 2, the two sides entered the final penalty shoot. The goalkeeper Wu Yifan from Class 5 continuously saved two penalties, leading to the final result of 4 to 2. The team eventually defeated his opponent to win the championship. After the game, players and coaches hugged and congratulated to each other excitedly and received applause from the fans.

This is the first football championship won by AHS after several times of national runner up since its establishment, and the championship is also a reward of the school’s paying great attention to the development of school sports, developing campus football and cultivating students' quality.
