As a trainee of the first phase of high school students talent programme hosted by China Association for Science and Technology, Wei Tianhao, a student from Class 7 Grade 2012 of High School Attached to Shandong Normal Univeristy (AHS), has been selected into the list of 25 students who will join in National Sino-Japan Youth “Face to Face with Nobel Prize Winner”Activity. They will go to Japan this summer vacation and have an exchange with scientists winning the Nobel Prize.

As is reported, aiming to strenghthen the cultivation of the trainees in this programme and inspire students’ interest in the research on fundamental science, China Association for Science and Technology chose some excellent students from the first phase of high school students talent programme and recommended them to take part in high-level international sicence and technology exchange activities. This time, after a strict three-level selection, that is school selection, selection in the province and across the whole coutry, 25 outstanding students got the qualification to join in this activity. Among the list of 25, only 2 students, Wei Tianhao of AHS and a student of Zhangqiu No. 1 High School, are from Shandong Province.

There are totally 1600 students in the first phase of high school students talent programme, among whom 11 are from AHS. Wei Tianhao is an all-round student, who is at the head of his grade in study and a trainee of 2013 high school students talent programme. He takes lessons from Liu Weiguo, Taishan Scholar and professor of College of Computer Science and Technology of Shandong University. He once won many prizes, such as the bronze medal in National Youth Olympiad in Informatics, the first prize in National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces (NOIP) and the bronze medal in the IOI Chinese Team Trial and National Informatics Classic.
