\Eight postgraduate facilitators from AHS

RecentlyShandongNormalUniversitypublicized the list of newly appointed postgraduate facilitators of 2011, 8 outstanding teachers from High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) included. Up to now altogether 17 teachers of AHS have been qualified to be postgraduate facilitators, ranking the 1st in number among all middle schools ofShandongProvince. They are Wang Yuzhang, Vice Headmaster of AHS and advanced teacher in politics, Tian Mingquan, Director of Teaching and Research Office and advanced teacher in Mathematics, Li Suhan, Director of Administration Office and advanced teacher in Information Technology, Wang Lili, a prize winner of “Qilu Teacher of Prestige” and advanced teacher in Biology, Cheng Ruoli, a Superfine Teacher in Mathematics, Yuan Jing, an advanced teacher in Mathematics, Shi Hongwei, an advanced teacher in Mathematics, and Qin Ran, an advanced teacher in Physics. In the meantime Wang Yuzhang was invited to be a member of the Guiding Committee for Education Masters of Shandong Normal University.

In accordance with the spirit of being “a teacher of great learning and a model of moral integrity”, AHS makes its continual endeavors to nurture better qualified teachers. The school has made it normalized to invite professors from universities to instruct its education, teaching and research and required each individual teacher to draft personal development plan. AHS has formulated five stratums to designate five different levels of teachers’ development. They are “Fresh Youngster”, “Promising Star”, “Expert Teacher”, “Chief Teacher” and “Senior Teacher”. In addition, the school continuously promotes the application of the latest theories of teaching and research to the teaching practice, probes into efficient teaching in all subjects and standardizes teachers’ introspection of teaching, thus making outstanding achievements and directing subject teaching. In AHS a flourishing situation has come into vogue, where each teacher undertakes some teaching research, each research produces some practical outcome, each outcome is applied to teaching practice. Since the implementation of the 10th National Five-Year Plan, AHS has assumed over 60 national and provincial level teaching and research tasks, making itself a trial school undertaking major research.

Up to now among the 306 staff members of AHS, 4 have been endowed the title of “Superfine Teacher”, 17 appointed as postgraduate facilitators, 3 granted the title of “Qilu Teacher of Prestige”, 18 designated as expert teachers of Shandong Province, 3 “Prominent Educator of Jinan”, 10 “Nation-Level Backbone Teachers”, 18 “Backbone Teachers of Shandong Province”, 21 rewarded “Better-Qualified Head Teacher”, and 122 certificated as advanced teachers. And altogether 82 teachers have obtained the first-class prize in quality teaching contest held nationwide, inShandongProvinceor inJinan. In 2011 teachers of AHS obtained up to 211 prizes and delivered 56 papers in academic periodicals. The teachers of AHS have successfully transformed from experience-driven and skill-oriented to research-directed and expert-typed teachers. A team of teachers are working thelandofAHS, with their best morality, exquisite teaching, well-structured make-up, passion for teaching and affection for students, profound academic and professional attainment, outstanding ability for scientific research, and sound comprehensive quality.
