Mr. Kadoya at the meeting with teachers from AHS
From February 27 to28 inTianjin the Experience Exchange and International Symposium was held on “Research on Primary and High School Students’ Inquiry-Oriented Study and Innovative Talent Cultivating Mechanism” organized by National Center for Curriculum and Textbook Development of Ministry of Education. Over 190 people attended the meeting, includingCao Zhixiang, Deputy Director of National Center for Curriculum and Textbook Development, Fu Yihong, Head of Teaching Affair Department of National Center for Curriculum and Textbook Development and Chief Editor of Elementary Education Curriculum, Zhou Yuan, Deputy Director of Management Centre of Agendum in the 21st Century of Ministry of Science and Technology, Chang Ying, Head of Clean Technology Development Department of Management Centre of Agendum in the 21st Century, Kadoya from National Institute for Educational Policy Research of Japan, Miss Catherine Walkear from Dulwich College Beijing, Liao Boqin and other group leaders of subject research, and other representatives of subject research schools. As a trial school carrying out the “Research on Primary and High School Students’ Inquiry-Oriented Study and Trial of Innovative Talent Cultivating Mechanism”, AHS sent Yang Ping, in charge of the program in AHS, and Zhou Shuju, taking charge of the lab in AHS, to attend the meeting and do experience exchange.
At the meeting Mr. Kadoya gave a speech The Target of Japan’s Education of Sciences, in which he made profound illuminations on five aspects, including what capacity should be nurtured in education of sciences, mastering the fundamental knowledge and skills, fostering the ability of thinking, judging and expressing of sciences, linguistic activities for cultivating abilities, and upgrading students’ initiatives. On behalf of the subject research groups of AHS as a trial school of experiment programs, Yang Ping addressed a report named Research on constructing High School Digital Labs Based on Inquiry-Oriented Study and Developing Digital Experiments.
The Research on Primary and High School Students’ Inquiry-Oriented Study and Innovative Talent Cultivating Mechanism is a fundamental research program of professional significance untaken byNationalCenterfor Curriculum and Textbook Development of Ministry of Education under the authorization of Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Confirmed as a trial school carrying out this research program, AHS has built up the research team led by Wang Yuzhang, Deputy Headmaster of AHS and designated the research on “Constructing High School Digital Labs Based on Inquiry-Oriented Study and Developing Digital Experiments”, involving physics, chemistry, biology, laboratory and many other subjects and departments. Over a year of abundant research conducted by the research team, AHS has commenced the subject research and further applied the research outcome into teaching practice. AHS are now in active preparation for the opening of the Symposium of Innovative Class Teaching Based on Digital-Experiment of AHS, which is scheduled in late March.
