Donation to a student shows great love from the school

——the ceremony of handing over donated money

On the afternoon of June 22, 2011, a ceremony of handing over the donated money to Xiong Yulou, a student of Class 12 Grade 10 who had leukemia relapse，was held in the school meeting room at 3 pm. Present at the meeting were leaders of the school, Wang Yuzhang, vice principal, Tan Yinghai, Party branch secretary, Chen Dehai, vice principal and Wang Xigang, director of Moral Education Office, Zhang Shaoni, vice-director, Liu Minghui, director of Grade 10, Sun Pengyuan, Xiong’s charging teacher, the Chair and vice-chair of Students’ union also included. Xiong’s mother came to attend the ceremony on behalf of the family.

Vice principal Chen hosted the ceremony while principal Wang on behalf of the whole staff including all students, delivered a speech, in which he first expressed deep concern for Xiong Yulou. Then he introduced the whole story of the donation: with a special meeting held, leaders all attached great importance to this affair; all teachers and students actively responded to the appeal and generously expressed their love in the form of donation; the loving donation even went beyond the school and was responded from our society. All those little drops make a mighty ocean. With great emotion, Principal Wang said, “teachers and students in our school are straightforward and warm-hearted and we all hope that our love can be passed to Xiong Yulou.” And also on behalf of all the staff, Principal Wang again expressed the hope that Xiong could recover early. After the speech, Principal Wang handed the money, 25, 0965.2 RMB along with the loving heart of more than 6,000 teachers and students to Xiong’s mother.

With tears in her eyes, Xiong’s mother bowed deeply to the present teachers and students to express her thanks. She said that the loving donation greatly relieved their financial pressure, and what’s more important was that they got spiritual support. With the help from school, they would never feel lonely and worried and Xiong was sure to get encouraged for an active cooperation with doctors for the treatment with a stronger will. In her speech, Xiong’s mother said after recovery, Xiong would do more for this society to pass the love down. After that, she gratefully presented a thank-you letter and a banner with “Donation to a student shows great love of the school” to Tan Yinghai, Party branch secretary, who also expressed his sincere wishes and comfort to Xiong. The ceremony ended up in sincere wishes and deep gratitude.

Two days later, on June 24, Xiong’s mother returned to Beijing and handed the loving donation and good wishes from the whole school to Xiong Yulou, who was about to go into the warehouse to inhibit bone marrow. At that moment, Xiong Yulou expressed his thanks with great emotion to all the teachers and students who helped and encouraged him with good wishes. Also he said being a student in such a great school is his best choice and he is proud of being a member of the school. He also promised that he would actively accept the treatment in order to recover as early as possible so that he could go back to his lovely mother school which was filled with love and warmth to restart study to pay back for the school and our society.
