Assembly for Celebration of the 27th Teacher’s Day was held in the Meeting Hall of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University on the afternoon of September 9th. Vice-president Wang Yuzhang, Party Secretary Tan Yinghai, Vice-president Chen Dehai and Liu Congjun, together with more than 300 staff members gathered together to celebrate the Teachers’ Day, scheme development, conclude achievement and look forward to a brighter future. The Assembly was hosted by Vice-president Liu Congjun.

After the singing of national anthem, Party Secretary Tan Yinghai announced two documents of Resolution for Commending Educators Teaching for More Than 30 Years and Resolution for Commending Advanced Party Organizations and Advanced Party Members. He offered affirmation and praise to these honored educators for their industrious and innovative professional dedications, sincere and mutual-respected behavioral philosophy, strict and precise academic attitude, and their outstanding contribution to the construction and development of the school. Besides, he called for the staff members to learn their professional ethics, inherit their fine traditions, and carry forward their academic attitude. Last, he gave congratulations on one Advanced Party Organization, 5 Advanced Party Members praised by Shandong Normal University and 16 Advanced Party Members praised by High School Attached to Shandong Normal University during the celebration of 90th anniversary of Chinese Communist Party.

Vice-president Chen Dehai announced Resolution for Commending Excellent Form Teachers of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University, and gave awards to 36 excellent form teachers who had noticeable performance in their work during the semesters of 2010-2011.

The awarding ceremony was held in such a solemn yet merry atmosphere. Educators having been teaching for more than 30 years, advanced Party members, excellent head-teachers and young teachers who have won the Teaching Techniques Competition of “Promising Teaching Star” were awarded one after another. What’s more emotive and affecting is ceremony of presenting banquets of flowers of young teachers who have just started their teaching work to those educators teaching for more than 30 years, which reminds us of the successive transmission of good teaching tradition from generation to generation in the school.

Ceremony of establishing “Distinguished Teacher Workroom” and ceremony of honoring master-teachers were held later on. In order to better exert the leading influence of distinguished teachers, the school decided to establish “Distinguished Teacher Workroom” for “Qilu Distinguished Teacher” Zhai Houlan, Zhang Wei, Wang Lili, ”Jinan Distinguished Teacher” Song Shuying, ”Nominee of Jinan Distinguished Teacher Project” Meng Wei, Li Min. Master-teacher System has always been a good tradition of the school. 7 new teachers have taken 7 experienced teachers as their master-teachers who would offer them guidance of excellent education philosophy and teaching techniques to help their growth.

Kong Rui, Niu Huajun, Cao Qiuju and Li Wei, representing advanced Party members, excellent head-teachers, master-teachers and new teachers, have respectively delivered speeches.

Vice-president Wang Yuzhang delivered an ebullient speech. He mentioned that education is of fundamental importance to the fulfillment of our great long-range mission, while teachers are of fundamental importance to the fulfillment of education.

The hope of Chinese nation’s prosperity lies in education, while the hope of education’s prosperity lies in teachers. According to the theme of this year’s Teachers’ Day: “Stay loyal to Party's educational cause and implement educational planning guidelines”, he put forward three suggestions:

Strengthen teachers’ sense of mission so as to stay loyal to Party’s educational cause. A teacher can influence the whole life of a student, while teachers can influence the future of Chinese nation. Teachers are supposed to be fully aware of their responsibilities and historical missions, realize the everlasting influence and significance of the work, establish idea of “the school’s rejuvenation, my responsibility”, and further strengthen sense of mission and responsibility of the school’s rejuvenation.

Strengthen teacher’s sense of profession so as to stay loyal to Party’s educational cause. Teachers are important transmitters and creators of knowledge. Qualified people and high quality education can’t be reached without qualified teachers. Teachers of the school should firmly establish the idea of “lifelong Learning” to learn new knowledge, new technology and new techniques, to advocate scientific spirit and cultivate practical and precise attitude, to be the pioneer of teaching reform and innovation so as to achieve the goal of self-promotion.

Strengthen the sense of teacher’s exemplary virtue so as to stay loyal to Party’s educational cause. The morals are the essence of teaching, while the morals of teacher are the moral standards of a country. The morals of a teacher are the most important indicator of construction of a teacher team and would be put in the first place during the process. Teachers should put forward professional morals, dedicate to devotion, and develop self-promotion of the morals of a teacher.

He expected teachers can work hard, stay loyal to the Party’s educational cause, implement educational planning guidelines of Shandong province and build High School Attached to Shandong Normal University into a school which is more profound in cultural foundation, more powerful in teacher’s qualification, more scientific in school management, more excellent in teaching condition, more outstanding in teaching quality, more distinguishing in teaching features, and more obvious in school reputation, so as to be first-class in the country and be famous in the world.
