From Nov. 9^thto 11th, the semi-final of 2012 NationalOlympiad in Informatics in Provinces (NOIP) was held in No. 1 Middle School of Changyi, Shandong. 13 students fromJinan, capital city ofShandongProvince, won prizes, including 8 students of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University(AHS), all of whom attained the first prize and have been qualified to be recommended for admission to universities free of exams. So far, there have been totally 127 students from AHS recommended for admission to universities free of exams because of their winning in NOIP.

AHS performs excellently in each year’s NOIP. The school attaches importance to students’ comprehensive abilities and provides good surroundings for students’ development. There are IT classrooms, which once functioned as the field for training and selective trials of NOIP.

Zhao Zongchang, Informatics teacher of AHS, is respectable and proficient in teaching and has trained many gold medalists of NOIP. His course, the Introduction of the Pascal Language Program Design, is popular with students and he also won admiration from students.
