Students continue doing research

The 1^stBiological Modeling Contest was successfully held on Xingfuliu campus of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) on the afternoon of May 10^th. The contest, co-hosted by Biology T&R Group, Office of Disciplines, and Youth League Committee, is one of the activity series for cultivation of students’ biological quality.

Modeling displayed in the contest was accomplished by teams formed by dorm- mates, and modeling materials are such daily stuff as plasticene, iron wire, yarns and so on. While displaying their works, students also introduced their inspiration, conception and process of modeling, and demonstrated some dynamic modeling. Students turned abstract biological knowledge into concrete modeling, with some difficulties and key points in biology teaching solved spontaneously. The modeling contest not only motivates students’ personal learning interests, but also promotes cooperation and communication among students.

After the contest, biology teachers of Senior 1 and 2 commented the works, pointing out deficiencies and improving ways. Besides, the activity cultivated operational capacity and enriched extracurricular life of students, which demonstrated students’ strength and philosophy of education, education for all-round development of AHS. The contest has been warmly received and welcomed by teachers and students.
