Wang Zhexian and Zhang Xiaotong, two students of High School Attached toShandongNormalUniversity, were awarded the first and the second prize respectively in Inspirational Messages of Peace Contest organized by U.S. National Parks Office,Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Siteand International World Peace Rose Garden. They completed their poems under the guidance of their English teacher Zhang Ping.

This contest is part of the 2012 exchange activity named as Youth Goodwill Ambassador, which is launched by International World Peace Rose Garden. This activity aims to provide an opportunity for students all over the world to experience American life and culture as well as learn more about American history and current situation. Students will broaden their horizon and open their mind. This activity also helps to strengthen the exchange and friendship betweenChinaandAmerica.

The two students in May will go toAmericaand pay a visit toSacramentoand Los Angles of California. They will meet and communicate with teachers and students from all over the world and join in the “Messenger of Peace” ceremony hosted in Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site inGeorgia. In the ceremony they will have the chance to read out their poems, expressing their hope for the world peace.
