In view of enriching students’ after-class life, improving their physical health, promoting the balance between their physical and mental development and upgrading the school’s sports activities, the Spring Ten Thousand Meter Relay Race was held in the Xingfuliu schoolyard of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) on March 31. Students of Grade 1 and 2 attended the race on behalf of their respective classes.

Centering on the theme of “Keep United and Fearless, Run for Health”, the race accordingly arranged each class to select 25 contestants including 15 boys and 10 girls with each running 400 meters successively and all adding up to ten thousand meters. Fully engaged in the race with great tenaciousness and endurance, contestants displayed their high sense of collective honor as well as their best quality of daring to struggle and seeking the best. Cheers from the enthusiastic audience, together with the ardent athletes, filled the whole playground with a heated atmosphere.

AHS Sports Teaching Center has always been putting into use the reform of sports and health courses, committing themselves to promoting students’ core qualities and attaching importance to containing moral education into sports activities, thus well planting into students’ heart the spirit of keeping united, cooperative, diligent and fearless. The ten thousand meter relay race has well laid the foundation for students to develop their personality and freethemselves and further evoked students’ spirit of keeping united and aggressive.

After the students’ relay teachers of Grade 2 Labor union attended the relay intended for teachers, stirring up high enthusiasm and pushing the trend of doing body-building exercise to its climax.
