As an old saying goes, read ten thousand books and travel ten thousand miles. In view of putting into practice Views on Promoting the Study Tour of Primary and Middle School Students issued by Ministry of Education, adjusting to the reform of middle school courses, developing in a deeper sense the practical school-based courses, evoking their potential, nurturing their comprehensive ability, strengthening their awareness of teamwork, tempering their will, enabling them to get close to nature and releasing their enthusiasm, 300 students in Grade 2017 with their teachers of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) attended a study tour named Hiking to the Yellow River.

The tour covered a distance of 24 kilometers, during which students mapped out the route by applying the professional hiking app and undertook inspections on those attractive tourist attractions as well as landscapes.

Lasting 6 hours, the study tour turned out to be a great success with students and teachers completing the whole journey smoothly with the assistance of some parents. Through the activity students have built up a stronger teamwork spirit, enlarged their horizons, improved their ability to practice and observe and learn what can’t be obtained within the school.
