At 10:00 am, September 1, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) held the Opening Ceremony for students Grade 2018 in the gymnasium of the downtown schoolyard. Present at the ceremony were Wang Yuzhang, AHS Principal, Tan Yinghai, General Secretary of AHS CPC committee and Vice Principal, Chen Dehai, Liu Congjun and Zhang Xianchen, AHS vice principals, directors of AHS departments, and 1600 newly recruited students and their head teachers. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Congjun.

Wang Yuzhang addressed an opening speech, in which he expressed his welcome to those new students and introduced to them the history, educational characteristics and achievements of AHS. Wang also put forward his requirements as well as suggestions as a principal. Firstly do reflections on what kind of a person “I” will grow up to be in AHS and what kind of a university “I” will be admitted into. Secondly to make “myself” a better person new students should adapt to and catch up with the AHS model as soon as possible and insist on striving for outstanding academic achievements. Thirdly do abide by AHS regulations and discipline rules. At last Wang encouraged students to build up unswerving faith and belief, stick to lofty morality, keep to discipline, nurture the civilization and high cultural qualities, bring up the healthy personality and finally attain sustainable comprehensive qualities. Every student should strive to grow up to be an AHS student with wide visions, solid foundation, high capacity and more promising prospect.

Liu Minghui, Director of AHS Department of Education and Teaching Affairs, addressed a speech titled Today You’re Proud of AHS and Tomorrow AHS Will Be Proud of You. Starting with the elaboration on the differences between Senior High School Entrance Examination and College Entrance Examination, Liu further stated how to undertake academic study as a senior high school student and how to make preparations for the following 30 years’ life.
