From October 10 to 18, 2015, Zhan Houlan, a physics teacher of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University with titles of “Expert Teacher of Shandong Province”, “Special-Grade Senior Teacher” and “Senior Teacher”, went to Kashi District, Xinjiang Province and the four counties, which are accepting the partner assistance from Shandong Province, to give teaching demonstrations and academic lectures. This visit functioned as one of the activities of aiding Xinjiang Province in education. Shandong Provincial Education Department organized the Teaching Team of Shandong Province made up of 17 well-known educational experts and expert teachers covering the three stages of primary school, junior and senior high school. Miss Zhai was one of them. Their work was aimed to strengthen the educational communication between Kashi District and Shandong Province and comprehensively promote the teaching and educational quality of the partner districts in Xinjiang Province.

The Teaching Team of Shandong Province Carried out tour teaching demonstrations and lectures respectively in Kashi No. 6 High School, Shule Ba Yi Middle School, Yuepuhu No. 1 Middle School, Maigaiti Experimental Middle School, and Yingjisha Experimental Middle School. Those experts from Shandong Province well displayed the advanced educational ideas and scientific teaching approaches of Shandong education and at the same time through the communication know more about Kashi’s education including their proper experience and practices in education. The two districts have well made their respective advantages complementary to each other and created more chances for their further cooperation.

During the visit the expert team went through the uncomfortableness caused by climate and life style but still fully devoted themselves to their work. All together they addressed 12 lectures, attended and evaluated 80 teaching classes given by local teachers, gave 80 teaching demonstration classes and held 80 educational seminars. Their work benefited more than 2000 local teachers and was highly praised.

Warmly welcomed by Kashi’s educational administration and teachers, this visit turned out to be of special significance, well playing a role in setting examples of teaching lessons and showing a direction for Kashi’s educational development. The expert teachers from Shandong Province displayed their solid theoretical knowledge, abundant teaching experience and scientific methods, and won the recognition of the local counterparts. Kashi expressed their hope for more activities like this visit and they looked forward to further strengthening the theoretical guidance and intellectual support from the advanced districts and intensifying the mutual communication in education between the two districts in view of advancing the educational development of Kashi and comprehensively upgrading its educational quality.
