On March the 25^th,vice president ofNew Channel International Education Groupand also one of the members in Boss Group of the show called Must Belong to You of TJTV, John Gorden (his Chinese name, Wang Yuanyuan), was invited to give a lecture on English study of high school to all the students of Grade one and two on Xingfuliu campus.Zhang Jingting, vice secretary of theYouth League Committee, and some other teachers took part in this activity.

John Gorden, graduating fromWesleyanUniversityof theUS, was once the host of two programs, Happy China- Learning Chinese on CCTV-4 and English Night onCNR(China National Radio). Familiar with the differences betweenChinaandAmericaand having a good command of the study of English learning method, he is always active in the frontier of furthering study in theUSand language training, a number of masterpieces on English teaching such as Standard American English Book written by him. In the lecture, relaxing and humorous, John Gorden showed his Triangle studying method designed by himself, encouraged students to stick to combining oral English practice with imitating, reading and communicating in order to improve the ability of oral speaking from all aspects and led students to do some interactive practice on the spot. His vivid and excellent report won students’ applause from time to time. The students said they had learned a lot. After the report, many students further communicated with John Gorden actively.

John Gorden was contacted and recommended to the program, Forum in School, by Cao Jing, one of the students of our school in Class One, Grade Two. Forum in School is a platform which is to improve the atmosphere of school culture, the academic taste and the academic quality of teachers and students. The content includes three parts, which are the speeches of some prominent people, teachers and students. Among those, the speech of prominent people is about students inviting some well-known professors to campus, providing a chance for students to communicate with them face to face.

From the beginning of the program, a series of colorful activities have been organized ,which are based on academy and science lectures, students’ career planning and students’ consulting, providing a chance for teachers and students in our school to appreciate the charm of masters, chase the frontier of academy, set up magnificent goals and promote the understanding quality of science and humanity.
