The opening ceremony of the 2012 heart-to-heart camp sponsored by China Youth Communist League Center Committee and All-China Students' Federation and undertaken by Shandong provincial Party committee and Shandong Students' Federation was held in Jinan on July 27^th, with the attendance of Chen Guanghao, the minister of the department of school in China Youth Communist League Center Committee, and Chen Bichang, Vice Secretary of Shandong provincial Party committee. 260 high school students of different ethnic groups from 10 provinces or districts like Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region attended the ten-day communication activities in Shandong, together with 40 students of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS).

This activity is said to be an important part of the Ten-thousand Teens Plan for the Exchange of National Unity of the Youth League, which aims at promoting the exchange of different cultures between students of different ethnic groups and consolidating the development of national unity. Students of AHS took an active part in the opening and closing ceremony, the presentation of national culture, the counsel of school play, the inspection, theory study, national unity fellowship and some other activities, exhibiting to others their good qualities. More than 40 students of minorities became partners of the ones from AHS. Besides, under the arrangement of the sponsor, students of the minorities from nine provinces or districts experienced the homestay in some houses of the AHS students to closely feel the unique charm of friendly Shandong. The campers also visited Jinan and Qingdao for the social-economic development of Shandong as well as education of patriotism.

During this camp, students of AHS and the ones of other nationalities fully exchange their ideas for mutual improvement to further strengthen their political stand of safeguarding the unification of the country, consolidating national unity and opposing the national separatism. More knowledge and perseverance are acquired in order to advance unswervingly and courageously on the road to socialism with Chinese characteristics.
