One Gold and One Bronze Won in the 28th NOIP

On August 11, the 28th “Inspur Cup” National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces (NOIP), hosted by China Computer Federation (CCF) and organized by Jilin University, High School Attached to Northeast Normal University and Jilin Computer Fedaration, concluded in Jilin University. Wang Chengrui and Xie Zheng, the students from Senior High School Attached to Shandong Normal University representing Shandong Province, have achieved great success in this competition, respectively attaining one gold and one bronze. The gold was the only one harvested by Shandong team this time.

The 28th “Inspur Cup” National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces commenced on August 7 in Jilin University, attended by 340 contestants from 31 provinces and districts nationwide. After 6 days of intense competition, 39 gold, 64 silver and 118 bronze winners emerged.

Wang Chengrui, the gold winner ranking the twelfth in NOIP, were admitted into Tsinghua University at the scene. And Xie Zheng, the bronze winner, got the priority to be recommended for admission to key universities. According to statistics, all together 113 students from Senior High School Attached to Shandong University have so far attained the first prize in quarter-finals of NOIP, all qualified to be recommended for admission to universities free of exams. In NOI (the final of NOIP), the school team acquired 3 golds, 5 silvers and 9 bronzes, ranking the first in Shandong province in the number of both medal winners and gold winners and also standing among the top nationwide. The outstanding work of the school’s NOI coaching team, led by Head Coach Zhao Zongchang, has become a characteristic of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University.
