On November 28, a well-known inventor, Professor Xu Fuyun, Director of Shandong Jianzhu University, and Li Guicun, Director of Office of Patent and Trademark Affairs of Shandong Province, addressed a lecture on patent application for students of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS). Tan Yinghai, Secretary of AHS CPC Committee and Vice Headmaster of AHS, chaired the lecture. Xue Maochang, Head Coach of AHS Scientific and Technological Innovation, Sun Tengfei, Assistant Director of Grade 2 Affairs, and over 200 student inventors attended the lecture.

From quite early years on, AHS has been attaching great importance to cultivating innovative talents, conveying into key universities a great many high school graduates with their potential and capacity of innovation and invention, which are increasingly valued by key universities. Apart from the prizes of subject Olympic competition, patent certificates and prizes of scientific and technological innovation have been regarded as significant qualifications of quality high school graduates for universities to enroll. In view of this situation, AHS has made arrangements to instruct students to apply for patents for their inventions. The activity consists of four stages: inviting experts and professionals to address lectures on patent application, collecting students’ creations and inventions, applying for patents for students’ inventions and granting patent certificates issued by State Intellectual Property office of the P.R.C.
